Goddess Ganga sitting on a tame Makara – the sea monster inside the swadhisthana chakra
We have recently moved into an auspicious time for spiritualizing and inner development. This time is known in India as Makara Sankranti and occurs when the Sun transits into Capricorn, as it did on January 14th, 2022.
A Makara is a legendary sea creature in Hindu mythology. Makara is also the name of the Zodiac sign Capricorn, a crocodile, and the animal symbol within the swādhisthāna chakra that roams deep within the subconscious mind waiting to pounce when we least expect it. When this occurs, all sorts of personal demons are released, such as unacceptable thoughts, feelings, desires, and impulses.
Capricorn (Makara) is ruled by Saturn, the planet that rules death and change, and that restores dharma to your life and to the whole world. Unfortunately, this often occurs in ways that our ego does not like as Saturn will initiate change that suits higher purpose, not our egoic desires.
This movement of Saturn and the great malefic planet Rahu has been the cause of much of the change, upheaval, suffering, and strife we have experienced since Jan 2020. Powerful forces have been at work in the unconscious, both at an individual and a societal level, that have changed our society and moved us into a new era. And this period is likely to last for a while longer as Saturn does not transit out of Capricorn until 2023.
Light on the Chakras and Kundalini Course
This is why we are happy to be presenting our 9-month course, Light on the Chakras and Kundalinī. This is the perfect time to immerse yourself into spiritual study, to gain inner strength, not just the resilience to withstand the present stresses and challenges, but to gain the intuition and insight on how to turn what you are going through to your advantage. You need to see this time as a golden opportunity to go within and kindle the flame of spirit in your heart and mind.
The nine-month course offers you the chance to immerse yourself in spacious and relaxed teachings that start with the foundations for practice and move on to advanced instructions to awaken the entire chakra system.
The course will give you the keys to handling this pandemic with its physical and psychological stresses. It will teach you how to cultivate your inner life, find and hold your center, and develop inner strength and mental and emotional stability that is unshakable under all circumstances.
Cultivate steady wisdom – unflappable self-awareness
This stable, centered state has been described in the Bhagavad-Gita as steady wisdom. Steady wisdom is not an unfeeling, detached state. Instead, it is a state in which you can feel more and are affected by life, but you remain undisturbed because you do not lose your center and self-awareness.
Cultivate inner stability to handle external instability and change
If you don’t have inner stability, you depend on the world around you to remain stable to feel okay. Any small perturbations in the outer world and your inner world will be shaken. When you have your center, you can handle life’s changes, stresses, and challenges.
We can see how the stress of this time is playing out in terms of mental illness. People who do not have a connection to their inner being don’t have the internal resources to handle the worries and anxieties that naturally arise at a time like this. Many people whose outer life is disrupted have nothing to do and feel that their lives are wasting away. They do not see the opportunities in our present world situation. Therefore, the level of mental illness in the world today is skyrocketing.
Of course, we know many of Big Shakti’s students are developing their inner stability through ongoing study and practice. They know that the more stable you are within yourself, self-aware and connected to your essence, consciousness spirit, the less disturbed you will be by external stresses and challenges.
Join our global community
We really recommend that you continue your studies and join our global community to continue your studies. This is a wonderful time to go inward and deepen your connection to self, to use this time as an opportunity to purify your mind, stabilize your emotions, and keep moving on the upward path. This is a path towards bliss and knowledge in an expanded sense of who you are as a cosmic being incarnated for a short time in this personality.
In this course, you will receive two lessons per month, 20 lessons in total by email. These have video and downloadable audio lectures and meditations.
Every month we will get together for a live class, 10 in total over the year. The live classes are an opportunity to integrate the two lessons you have received and ask questions about theory, meditation, and your sadhana. During the class, you will have a lecture presentation and have an opportunity to practice meditation during the group.
