Yoga Nidra literally means ‘conscious sleep’. In Yoga Nidra, the body sleeps, but the mind remains relaxed and awake.
For most of us, sleep is not restful, as we do not resolve our tensions effectively before we go to sleep. We take the tensions of the day into the unconscious state of sleep at night. These tensions disturb sleep and rob us of its power of rejuvenation.
Yoga Nidra removes deep tensions and improves our capacity to rest.
